Tempered glass has certain heat resistance, but its heat resistance is not as good as heat-resistant glass. ‌

 

The heat resistance of tempered glass is mainly reflected in its ability to withstand certain temperature changes and temperature differences. The safe working temperature of tempered glass can reach 288℃ and can withstand a temperature difference of 204℃‌. When heated uniformly, tempered glass can withstand high temperatures of no more than 650 ℃‌, but its mechanical properties will gradually decrease when it exceeds 388 degrees.

 

However, tempered glass can burst under drastic temperature changes. This is because pre-stress is formed inside tempered glass during the manufacturing process. When the temperature changes drastically, this pre-stress can cause the glass to burst. In addition, tempered glass contains substances such as nickel sulfide, which may cause the glass to explode over the change of time and temperature.

 

In contrast, heat-resistant glass has higher heat resistance. Heat-resistant glass usually contains boric acid and silicic acid components that are highly heat-resistant and can withstand rapid temperature changes and high temperatures. Its thermal expansion coefficient is small, its heat-resistant temperature can reach 1200°C, and it will not burst like tempered glass when the temperature changes. Therefore, heat-resistant glass is more suitable for applications requiring high temperature environments, such as ovens and microwave ovens

 

To sum up, tempered glass has a certain degree of heat resistance, but its heat resistance is limited and may burst under rapid temperature changes. Heat-resistant glass, on the other hand, has higher heat resistance and better temperature stability.
